In New York, nobody is allowed to get off jury duty anymore, nobody–except for at/home mommy’s with kids under ten, if you own a business and have nobody to cover for you, or you’re sick.
Oh f-k, I thought it began at ten–begins at nine.
Used to love jury duty, but I’m so jaded.
If you always knew you had problems, and had to figure out what they were on your own as medical science wasn't ready for you, when you found out the name of your problems and more about them, would you rush to say you're disabled?
Would you reframe your life story?
Or try to keep it as honest and true to your memories as you could?
I'm writing a memoir, and taking the later road as my life has always been interesting and fun.
I had the longest youth in America. It lasted from the late 60's through the 80's.
My "disability" non verbal learning disorder (NLD) is invisible.
So people think I should have been super successful and made mega bucks.
Success to me can be as small as getting the side bar of my blog to work. And as big as I can dream!
I’m in KS. I’m a mom with a 2 year old and a home child care. I can’t get off jury duty for any reason whatsoever. So little kids and a business with no one to cover for me makes no difference here.
I’ve not had the pleasure of being called up yet, thank god!
Jury duty’s not that bad, other than being completely boring. You sit silently for hours until they tell you to go home because you didn’t get picked.
