Oh, great–no pressure there! And my own blog is currently full of drivel and fluff…you’d have to backtrack a week or two to find any real content, I’m afraid. And, erm, I’m about to post a whole bunch of PICTURES OF MY KID! Quite original and thought-provoking, my life.

Belinda… I’ve already gone to check you out, and I’ve already laughed (at “cat at a dog show status”. Indeed.)

    Thanks, Pia!

Everyone is interesting in their own way – so don’t be intimidated =) I’m actually very excited to read about a leftist Southern Christian – as I once was one. Now I’m a liberal Northern Pagan – but hey, in truth they’re really not that far apart.

Catholics worship all sorts of Saints and Angels…

Christians, Catholics, and Pagans all celebrate “Yule” – even though it is the uneducated non-pagans that think Christmas is Yule, when in truth Yule came first and was moved to Dec. 23 because Christians insisted on Dec. 25.

A very large majority of the Spanish population, overseas or otherwise, are either Catholic or Jesuit of some sort, yet they celebrate Cinco de Mayo – the Day of the Dead, essentially the pagan Samhain, or ‘Halloween’

In truth, we have all become tolerant of each religion – we simply refuse to admit it. Eh – I’ve strayed off topic =) What I really meant to say was good luck and have fun!

    “NINJA POODLES”??!!!

Fantastic name. I can’t even go over there right now, I’ve got an overdue forecast to finish.

hey btw Pia I would be happy to suggest things for a Hawaii trip but I have to confess I’m not very useful outside of the island of Oahu! It’s funny, the other islands are SO close and I know that they are wonderful, but by the time I’ve actually hauled my okole (backside) all the way from New York City…I’m very happy to stay on the island where I grew up (eating manapua and malasadas to get in touch with my inner 10-year old of course!).

I read the post. I don’t think the interview thing was a new idea, but it’s still a good on. I liked Belinda. She rocks. Thanks for the story.

About Me

I live in the South, not South Florida, a few blocks from the ocean, and two blocks from the main street. It's called Main Street. Amazes me too.

I'm from New York. I mostly lived in the Mid-Upper East Side, and the heart of the Upper West Side. It amazes me when people talk about how scared they were of Times Square in the 1970's and 1980's.

As my mother said: "know the streets, look out and you'll be fine."

What was scary was the invasion of the crack dens into "good buildings in good 'hoods." And the greedy landlords who did everything they could to get good tenants out of buildings.

I'm a Long Island girl, and proud of it now.
Then I hated everything about the suburbs. Yet somehow I lived in a few great Long Island Sound towns after high school.
