Just realized that we can’t all agree on Spring. It’s fall in other parts of the world. Coming on summer down South, much of California doesn’t really have seasons.
To me Spring means allergies. Where you see trees budding, I see stuffed noses. Where you see flowers blooming, I see sneezes and headaches. I hate rain with a passion some people reserve for psychopaths. Rain means the return of the mold farm, or molded head syndrome. An increasingly common condition that affects me more dramatically each year
Put the post I had up in draft because I hated it. Shayna I know that you will understand. If I haven’t answered comments, I will. I have an incredible desire to spend the next four days reading and watching TV. Think my DVR is almost all filled, since I basically watch yes, Boston Legal and The Soprano’s but my DVR seems to have issues with Tony, and won’t record it. Doesn’t matter, I know, I have HBO on demand. Just have an obsessive need to watch all TV shows DVR’d.
Don’t try to understand. I gave up trying to understand my obsessions a long time ago. If they don’t hurt me or others, I give them free reign. If they’re harmful, I try to find something not harmful.
Though once I found blogging, I found the mother ship where all obsessive/compulsives can pass for normal. It’s a fun parallel universe, but sometimes I need to be grounded in the real world
Here is a link to the story I wrote last Passover, The Oldest Child on The LIRR. On the sidebar to the left are Best of BIO posts, best of Courting posts, my ID post at Blog Critics–no person would want that many comments, trust me. Actually I do encourage lurkers; nobody should ever feel obliged to comment. Hate the word “lurker.” How about “reader?”
On that note I wrote a story in October, came home to one of the nastiest comments that led to one of the sickest exchanges I have encountered and I’m a frequent blogging sick comment recipent. I didn’t delete or ban at the time of that exhange. I do now. Read it, and understand why.
Finally each person who wrote a post or comments about me, is of course incredibly brilliant, but also have blogs worth reading. So read them

have a wonderful “holiday” weekend…
I am 29 years old and I am one of the older ones in my class of 1995 to have a baby… I waited longer than most of them… I was 27 when I had little willy… I do remember wanting to be like my cousin who i looked up to. She was married at 18 had a kid by the time she had just turned 20, had another kid by the time she was 22… had a good job and a loving hubby… I did marry at 18 but that was as far as I got with hubby #1… so I decided not to rush everything else… so far so good!
Oh man, if that’s all you watch then I need serious help!
Shayna, I had the babies and 25, 27/28 respectively (I say 27/28 because I gave birth at 27 and the next day turned 28! ;-P) I never wanted to have kids when younger, even considered not having them at all but now that I have them feel it would have been cool to have them younger had all the conditions been right…
Ooooh! Love me all your fab links Pia! As for me, perhaps ’tis me who’s strange! *sigh*
yes…you left out
Fröhliche Ostern! and Gledilega Paska!
Happy Easter, sweety!
We have some seasons in California.
Summer occurs in SF sometime in late September for 2 weeks.
Winter isn’t ending in Northern California yet. When it does this we’ll miss spring altogether and have 90 degree temps the first week of May.
As far as DVR’s and Tony… I know on TiVo you can bump up your rating on a show so if a less important show is slated to be recorded at the same time your favorite is on with a new episode, it’ll override it and record what you really want. If you have TiVo that’s what the thmubs up, thumbs down buttons are for.
Thanks for posting the comment from the irrate reader. Blogging, is, if nothing else, endlessly fascinating. I find it ironic that the reader thinks you are self indulgent. What does he think bloggins is anyway? Of course it’s self indulgent. Isn’t that why we do it (or one of the many reasons)? We all need a creative place to vent and share. If people weren’t so self indulgent, it wouldn’t be half as interesting. Thanks for your blog, it’s wonderful and happy Spring to you too!
