My cover

This is a very big day in my life. I mastered the art of putting code into WordPress, the posts; sidebar coding, uh, my sidebar’s look like one giant potical billboard. But I never thought that I could actually…Such a simple thing….

Courting Destiny Feature

Love love love that cover. Click the cover and find the article.

Thanks Miz B, Cat, Dan,Esoteric Wombat, IM Dedd our very own BOB winning cartoonist, and many more people for their help.

Have to say that the article is incredible. Who is that person they are talking about? Do I know her? Have we met? She sounds so much like me, but she’s more interesting. We have led and are leading the same lives.

Before I found blogging I found the Internet to be a placed filled with wonder of what could be. I knew it had so much potential but I only used it for research and finding old boyfriends. Lost interest in that very quickly.

Hated chat rooms. They always seemed weird to me and filled with people I really didn’t want to know. Bloggings not like that.

I have made many friends throughout the blogosphere. It’s amazing to be part of a movement that is revolutionizing how we communicate.

When we formed BIO, and by we I mean Sally, Cranky, Steve, Mulligan and Anna, the Radical Right was a much more dominant force than it is now. Hate my politics? Go ahead. Hate my personality? Same thing. Though I have found that through civilized conversation many people find commonalities that they never expected to find. It happens on BIO all the time.

But insult my moral/values and I will take you down. There are many people on the Internet who are real sorry they ever confused all this pink for weak and unable to defend myself. Words are my weapon, and I do use them well. That’s not an invitation to come here and try.

This is my blog, and The First Amendment, which is my Bible doesn’t apply here. I delete. And please the tired “I have friends” threat. What are they going to do? Kidnap my blog?

I’m a writer. I love to write and really did begin my blog for writing practice. I had the plainest blogger blog possible, and kept it for months once I began blogging for credits, as I call BE. People read it. I was shocked, and invested in a designer. Great blog investment.

Friday’s usually a fun day in the blog world, and it’s my friend Sar’s birthday. We have many blogging friends in common, and I will stop at their blogs before going to the party. A virtual party but might sound strange, but have a little faith. Shayna had Mick sing at her birthday, and during a virtual girls weekend, I was kidnapped by Karl Rove as I have never been to Las Vegas so I can’t really be American.

Esoteric Wombat saved me. So we let him and a few other guys hang out.

I feel incredibly fortunate to be in the vanguard of a rapidly growing and constantly morphing revolution in communication.

Writers crave feedback. Blogging gives instant feedback. It’s a very supportive environment. As a writer, frankly, I’m used to the critique that tells you everything that you did wrong. I’m so aware of my faults that I really need to be told what I did right.

Excuse me, I have an article to memorize. Have to learn about myself through the eyes of others. And if I could put in the code to the cover, most people can learn. Trust me on that.

Think I have been exhausted all week. Just lost another post to to the logictech mouse. Never happened before this week, and it was poetic, insightful and…another time.

The wonder of the day is just beginning to sink in, but I really have to begin saving if I type when exhausted.

Way to go Pia! Congratulations on this wonderful coverage of both you and your work.

As the article says- not everyone can express their lives in ways that make other people of any stripe sit back and say- Yeah, I can relate to that.

Kudos to you! And if that book deal ever comes through, I’ll be in line for my autographed copy!

I don’t know where to start – just read your article in LI Press and am checking out your blog for the first time. How is it that the first entry I jumped into struck at least three personal cords? I’ll be back and mazel tov on your cover. Gina

You know, I was reading the article and thought of about 5 things I like about this blog they missed. That’s what gives away what an accomplishment Courting Destiny is. Kudos to you, Pia. You had this coming.

  7. April 7th, 2006 at 02:22 | #7

Congrats Pia! I am so happy for you and elated to be amongst your “cult-like” readers!

  8. April 7th, 2006 at 02:31 | #8

Wow Pia, I think that’s the best profile I’ve read by traditional media of any blogger. Great stuff. It’s so great that so many of your readers were able to give quotes. Gotta love the multiple BIO plugs!

  9. April 7th, 2006 at 02:35 | #9

This is just fantastic and deservedly so. WooToTheHoo for Pia!

How can I get an autographed copy?

  10. April 7th, 2006 at 02:57 | #10

I’ve never really been quoted before. At least not in front of 450K readers.

Thanks for making it easy to say good things Pia!

  16. April 7th, 2006 at 05:04 | #16

Oh I’d say, “also known as EsotericWombat” Think I’m going to stick with that nickname for a while longer.

Congrats. I’ve said it before, but you had this coming.

Bravo! Can’t wait for the book!!!!

  20. April 7th, 2006 at 08:29 | #20

I can see this is an evolving post so I decided to steal a second comment.

First I have to say Little Luce sounds like Little Pia. How cool is that?

To Ginah, an independent agreement. Stick around. This site can be breathtaking.

  21. April 7th, 2006 at 09:25 | #21

Congratulations on the article. Until yesterday, when someone handed me the LI Press as I approached Penn Station, I had heard of bloggs and blogging constantly on Air America radio, but never quite understood. I read the article and was subsequently inspired to read your blog. Good for you; you are at the forefront of a new media.

  26. April 7th, 2006 at 20:53 | #26

    Holy toledo! I want one!

  27. April 8th, 2006 at 10:46 | #27

Sipping coffee at public library, I saw this sexy cover on a local newspaper I rarely even glance at. A minute later I was reading the article…fascinated. Tonight–this is NOT ME??!!–I remembered,
“Hey, go read some of that lady’s stuff.” Really glad I did. Never read a blog before. Wow. The LI Press article was reliable. Here’s a VIBRANT person/writer! (That means you–yes–really– but I think you’ve begun to believe it.) Bravo, mazeltov, skol, best wishes, cheers, happy Passover, thanks, salut, envy, l’chaim, delight, vivre votre blog, and may you and all beings be happy. I’m hooked.

  28. April 8th, 2006 at 10:57 | #28

Well, that just shows how bloggy-smart I am. You ask for name, I stupidly write my full name–with a reminder to use only the first name! When I could have used good ol’ ZONK. Hey, I’m 58, what can one say? But then…SO WHAT? Another chance to praise your great writing…

  29. April 9th, 2006 at 00:37 | #29

Way to go, Pia! So pleased for you and you so deserve this! I haven’t been by for a couple do days, and I miss this! xxx
