Happy Birthday Pia - enjoying it wherever you are I hope!

I'm glad you write - your voice is unique and I am on of those who love your stories. I laughed when I read about your father getting thrown out of Husband's Night - that is priceless. I am sure your Dad is very proud. He was in an MTV commercial?

Happy Birthday my dear, dear friend! Hope you have a beautiful day! Wish I could take you out!

It happens to all of us as we age... our view of the world tends to change.

Who knows how your rebellion set the stringe of your political views... :)

That was lovely pia. Happy Birthday if that be the case.

All parents should love their children for what they are at any given time.

Happy birthday, Pia - and may all your birthdays be filled with happiness and light! What wonderful memories you have of your family. My wish for the world would be that everyone had the benefit of warm and loving parents. That is more important than anything - to know as a child you are safe and you are loved.

Wow.

My folks never talked with me about much of anything. They talked "at" me, but it was, "be good, do the dishes, clean up your room, wash that makeup off" kind of thing. I don't EVER remember having a political conversation with them, but then, they never voted. They complained (a lot) about the government, taxes, schools and roads, and claimed to be Democrats, but they never visited a polling place. I spent many years trying to please them, then several more trying to spite them LOL
They're both dead now.
It always amused me that they called themselves Christians but never attended church. I think of myself as a Christian, but many who claim the title sure aren't following the example of Jesus. He was the original hippie, all about peace, love, forgiveness and being open-minded to your fellow human beings (friend to a prostitute, lest we forget LOL). The religious right would probably make him barf - LOL

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and for letting me share mine. I hope you have a lovely day. Peace and joy to you.
