BG has a "kitchenette" that is just a tiny part of the living room, plus he has no dining table, so dinner is served at the coffee table. However (hint hint, nudge nudge) the LES coop I'm selling has an eat-in kitchen. A fair number of people renovate by knocking down a wall and making it an open kitchen that flows into the living room/theoretical dining area. Just teasing--I'm sure the LES is not your thing (is it?) When I watch the real estate porn on the Home and Design channel, I plotz at the size of the kitchens. Most are at least twice as big as the average Manhattan apartment. Eating out in NYC is great, but yes it can get old I guess, and it's horribly expensive.
