Glad you made it back ok, and give up the guilt about the riser!! lol

My coworker just spent a few days there, you might have run into her there. I haven’t heard how she got on, another lady alone in Mexico.

I loved Mexico, but I only spent an afternoon there, with a large group. I only got hit on by a donkey with a hat that took a liking to my left breast.. ~Which Robert took a photo of, and caught on film.
Sorry about your camera!! I think we’d have liked photos with that post.

Hi Pia, thanks so much for coming by Charmed & Dangerous. On the Mystery Shopping experience, I have done that for 11 years on the side (I make my living as a Corporate Attorney) and that is the first bad experience I have ever had. Go figure, lol. I had nightmares last night over it. tee hee hee

Wow it’s good to see you back in fine form. I loved so much of this post, from the Americans who add O’s to the end of words to the “just one Hon” waitress. I spent some time in Wildwood a couple of summers with some Philly connections as that’s not the Jersey shore of my real youth.

Sorry about some of the tribulations of your travels but glad you had a vacation. Cancun is beautiful and exactly how you pegged it.

I love Cancun, been many times. We have property in Cabo San Lucas though and my fave hangout there is The Giggling Marlin and Plum Crazy’s.

Oh what a wonderfully vivid depiction of the differences between tourist trap Mexico and the Real Deal Mexico.

Whenever I think of Mexico, I think Juarez – guys in black Mercedes whistling at my then-fiance, the poverty, the “Anglos Welcome Only Where Tourists Go.”

Interesting account. It sounds like Cancun’s changed a lot, since I was there–and it wasn’t all that long ago. Now, we enjoy an area about 30 miles south, what they call the Riviera Maya. Someday, it will be too built up, too…but it missed the total distruction of Katrina.

I’m sorry about your camera, and your foot. On my first-ever day in Cancun, I was so mesmerized by the scenery, that I tripped down the stairs, turned my ankle, and it was swollen and purple all week. That looks terrible in evening shoes, let me tell you!
