I lost a friend in the Twin Towers who was on her first trip to New York. She had wanted to go for years, amazing she picked that week or should I say “Tragic”?

Anyway, I wanted to comment because as a freelance journalist, I think people need to read your post. Noooo, they need to hear it on every radio and tv station across the nation. Through it all, no one ever bothered to report what day to day life was like for people such as you and your friends and thousands of others as well.

I was so moved by your post but also so awakened to a whole new side of the aftermath of America’s tragedy. Thank you Pia for being so forthcoming and sharing what must still be horrible memories for you.

And most of all, I am so sorry for all your losses. God bless.

I have been to New York too after 9/11 and you can see that most people have recovered from the aftershocks of the terrorism.

There is resilience in Americans, hope that there is no more of such atrocities.

I have a guest room and a hot cup of tea waiting for you. Sounds like you need a retreat. You know, Georgia might be a nice change. Put things in perspective.
