My first blog post in Psychology Today
Almost six and a half years ago this began as a blog about my life and interests. My friend said “let’s begin blogs.” I almost asked what one was but had heard of Anna Marie Cox then known as the Wonkette. I am very political.
Somehow people enjoyed my stories and my blog took off.
I lived on the Upper West Side of Manhattan then in a luxe doorman building I wouldn’t have been able to afford moving into in 04.
I wrote a lot about daily life in the city,my family and our lives, my past which was much much more exciting, and issues of the day. My undergrad degree is in Urban Studies (Boston University.) My grad degree is in Social Work (Fordham GSS) and I have always loved research. Real research not price comparison so I began writing for political blogs.
This isn’t really a blog about disabilities. It’s not really a blog about adoption. It has no central theme. If I had begun it later I would have had a theme. It might not have garnered as many readers. For a long time my life was very blogcentric.
When I found out about NLD I made big changes to my life, and blogging less was one change.
I’m redoing the categories and pages to make the blog more user friendly.
My blog is part of my life and something I probably won’t ever give up. Even if it’s just for me!
