As Destiny Doesn’t Come Calling

Hello

I can’t seem to comment on Blogger blogs, but I will.

Welcome to the new Courting Destiny.
When I first realized that people actually read my blog, I decided to have it designed. The first designer refused to listen to anything I said. A month later I had a mess. People stopped reading. It was that bad.

I read everything I could on blog design and knew that Lisa Sabin Wilson, had to design it. She understood how important it was to me, and rushed the design. One that I loved–the 200 blogs and other things I sent her helped a bit.

Lisa asked the greatest questions. I described my apartment wall colors and furniture to her.
.
Lisa’s genius lies in understanding design visions and making them come true. I’m a form, function and total design freak.

Some of you know too well that I can spend paragraphs describing one chair. Obviously I loved answering Lisa’s questions.

I so appreciate Lisa, and how she took the time to do this as she’s busy. Her book Wordpress for Dummies will be out in the fall. Once again she understood.

My only surviving aunt is an artist. My sister is. My Mom decided that since they were, she should take up painting. Turned out to be truly good. Many of my father’s favorite clients were artists and graphic designers. I was brought up to appreciate graphics as an art form.

Most of my art in my 600 luxe square feet are posters. I read pulp fiction and have postcards from the great trash films, or so the book says. My coffee table book for a long time was the 40th anniversary edition of Valley of the Dolls

My taste and interests are far ranging. Writing is my passion. Fiction is my new love; I think it’s more than lust.

I’m a bit nostalgic for the old Courting but yes, yes, yes, I love the new Courting. Look around. It’s a bit different.

Wow! I can’t tell you how happy this makes me.

I rewrote my “about me” I’m going for a minimalist structure. Sure.

Wow I love this blog. It’s my second home, and it has to be in order for me to feel chipper and productive.

I appreciate people who read and don’t want to comment. I never call them lurkers I’m one myself often.

That said I love comments. I’m not looking for Pia love fests, but I don’t debate. I write the post. If it lends itself to discussion, please do, but I don’t usually moderate. Love other people’s comment moderation. Have issues with mine.

Blogging has been an important part of my life for over two years. Ergo I read, think and sometimes write about it. Some people have problems with that. If you do, don’t read the post. Same for everything else. I’m never going to change. I will always blog about what I feel like. That’s what makes blogging such a wonderful adventure. I answer to nobody but me. No other writing medium has so much freedom and it can be scary.

I own all the content in Courting including comments. I no longer center posts around horrible comments. Fortunately those days ended.

Courting and I have come a long way together. The next step is fast approaching, the books.

Courting will always have my heart.

Let me know if you like it or not.

And to all my Jewish friends, Happy Passover. Yes, I am, but I see that constantly in newspapers and have always wanted to write it. It’s also my favorite holiday aside from Thanksgiving.

This year I won’t be the oldest child on the Long Island Railroad. I will be in the city.

Happy Passover!

37!

Hey there… let me be the first to welcome you back. I remember trying to load your old site and having my browser freeze. That happened a couple of times and I learned my lesson! But this loaded very quickly with no troubles so yay…

This is fantastic. no other way to say it. I love how the pinup is sitting on the banner that’s the same pattern as the sheets you told us about.

    Hey Pia !

When I saw the email your site was updated, I swear, I said to myself - “i bet there’s more green.”

I don’t know why said that, but I was correct(so were you)!

Nice, clean, inviting new look, Pia. Same frank, pithy, engaging, and sometimes a little unsettling content, I trust? Very nice.

  11. 11

WOW! I am impressed, Pia. Very, very nice new look. It seems you and Lisa collaborated well together on this new design and it shines. Sleek, smooth and powerful.

    Happy Passover!

    wow…congrats…looks awesome.

Nice design and layout, and the colors remind me of my most favorite ice cream parlor. I am disappointed that you did not include a ceiling fan slideshow of the most popular thong shots. Suppose I’ll just have to click Cooper’s links on her anti-porn musings.

    ah well.

Very Nice. I’m glad you kept the graphic, it’s you.
Much easier to read. Not that the old one wasn’t but this is much nicer.

It does remind me if ice cream.

  15. 15

    Wow, it’s gorgeous!

I really like how uncluttered it is :)

    I’m really impressed.

Congratulations and welcome to your new home.

Ooh, love it!! And I don’t have to retype my details every time to leave a comment now, apparently! :-)

It really is a nice design. I’m not one for fancy blog designs, it’s usually a sign of shallow content. Your new design proved me right, as it’s so nice and clean and simple, a real reflection of your depth.

    Love

I love it! I’m a minimalist at heart (though you couldn’t tell it by looking at my own sidebar), and I adore the color scheme you have here. It’s very clearly Courting…but very clearly different.

This is a really beautiful look. You made a wise decision.

  32. 32

I have been late, late, late in making it on over but you know how much I love, love, LOOOOOVE this new look! It is both classy and sexy, has the same heart and soul as the Old Courting and yet is more refined… like a woman who has found herself and is happy with what she sees in the mirror… a perfect fit my friend!

    Beautiful!

    A marvel.

I can’t get into the link in the above post.
Maybe it is because it’s a blogger blog. Not sure.

This is a general thank you comment and to to see if the avatar works.

I will return all comments later this week or when Blogger lets me.

The link in the above post works from my end. It’s probably a Blogger thing. If in doubt blame it on Blogger or Google

About comment moderation. I feel a general maybe I will or maybe I won’t.
