Born to Blog

March 10, 2005 By pia

Somebody said in a comment or BE comment that I was born to blog

I was thinking of getting a tattoo saying born blogger but needles scare me; and were I to get a tattoo, I would want something pretty.

Thanks to whoever made that comment.

I know that some people feel that they’re being oh so witty, and are showing off their brilliance, by making comments that personally attack me.

This blog’s not about hate, stupidity, or attacks on people.

I thought about closing it, and beginning a new one. But I’ve put too much time and effort into it.
More importantly I like it.

I’m no longer touching politics on this blog. Not because I feel defeated; no way. I feel re-invigorated.

Dr. Forbush congratulations on being named Looney Liberal of the Week

Cranky Liberal does a great job of explaining the difference between a hypothesis and theory in general, and in particular about evolution.

I was going to call Little Luce (fourteen) and fave niece (ten) to see what year in elementary school they learned the difference. But I didn’t want to embarrass adults, who don’t remember the difference, when both girls could talk about the subject forever. They’re both excited by science. May they never lose their enthasiasm and quest for knowledge.

That’s it. The political part of this blog is officially closed. Please respect that.

I’m glad you decided to keep this site as you obviously have a lot of people who look forward to your next blog. Even the folks who log on just to show their backsides are obviously engaged. I plan to keep reading. Amen, anyone?

Amen indeed – I’ve not been visiting for long, but I will definitely continue to do so!

Thanks for the kudos. I like your blog whether you choose to talk about politics or not. It seems to me that I couldn’t stop talking about any one subject because I just start writing about what’s on my mind. Of course when I discuss politics it attracts all sorts of riff-raff, but that goes with the territory.

If you find yourself in the need of political discussion stop by my blog and post under a pen name. 🙂

    Pia, thanks for stopping by.

I read your latest post on your blog. It’s too bad you have to change what you talk about in your blog because of some idiots.

But on the good side of things, I think it would be great for the Republican Hooligans that visit you to see that you are more than your political beliefs — that you are actually a person too. 🙂

    Thank you for always sharing.

Personally, I’m glad you’re keeping the site. I think it’s great. I am sorry that the thoughtless words of a few have made you decided not to talk politics here, though. People like kender are only happy when they hurt people.

    Dear Pia,
To blog or not to blog, certainly stirs up the issues/ramifications of “free speech.” I’m glad you’ll still be sharing your thoughts here. I read your entire blog the first two times in here for many of the reasons you choose to stay and be heard. I look forward every day to more words from you, the spunky independent, sincerely sensitive, wise woman who is giving us the gift of her well-penned words. Someday soon, I hope to have an autographed copy of your book, but I want it signed in person. 🙂

About Me

I live in the South, not South Florida, a few blocks from the ocean, and two blocks from the main street. It's called Main Street. Amazes me too.

I'm from New York. I mostly lived in the Mid-Upper East Side, and the heart of the Upper West Side. It amazes me when people talk about how scared they were of Times Square in the 1970's and 1980's.

As my mother said: "know the streets, look out and you'll be fine."

What was scary was the invasion of the crack dens into "good buildings in good 'hoods." And the greedy landlords who did everything they could to get good tenants out of buildings.

I'm a Long Island girl, and proud of it now.
Then I hated everything about the suburbs. Yet somehow I lived in a few great Long Island Sound towns after high school.
