Comments back and running–over 25,000 hits since 11/13

March 3, 2005 By pia

A few months ago I would have never dreamed that I could so shamelessly promote my blog, however…

over 25,000 hits since November 13, 2005 2004 makes me feel that I’m doing something right.

Yes I have an unfortunate habit of rushing years, when I really want them to slow down. Thanks to everyone who pointed out that I”m living, or something, in the future.

To those people who do their 30 seconds and move on; that’s fine.

To everybody who stays: I feel sickeningly like Sally Field.

Thanks to everybody who has let me know that my comments aren’t working. To an obsessed blogger, it’s important to have working comments.

I have been having e-mail problems in general, but don’t think that’s the problem as I can send anything from the Internet. And the problems aren’t big; I get the e-mails eventually, it’s just a very slow boat delivering the post.

Tomorrow I’m doing a post on how words can kill, if not literally, then beget killing and other violence.

I’m not used to being so self-congratulatory. It feels strange.

Thanks again. I so appreciate having loyal readers!

I wouldn’t worry about it. People blame other people to make themselves feel better.

Well, words can kill, but they’re about as harmful as a plastic knife. With a plastic knife it would take you about a million tries before you could finally kill someone, and the same with words.

Now, that doesn’t mean I don’t wish that words could kill sometimes.

Pia, I use bloglink, I have services adding their links. I go to the edit my list function…it’s a small hassle. But, I prefer Bloglinker more than BlogRoll…

Ick. Computer/e-mail problems are no good.

I tend to believe I’m the cause of all the problems in the world, but I’m trying not to think that way anymore.

Hey, nice blog you have here. You have good response to your postings too. However just a slip of the finger in your article, you said since November 2005, I think it is 2004. You have a nice day. Bye..

I think that’s a great topic to write about. I’m guilty of using words to hurt. I have also been the victim of harsh words. I would like to see your take on it.

    Hallo!

Just wanted to say that comments are really a part of a blog. I understand how you feel.

Also, I’m guilty of passing by your site without really browsing through it, though I don’t just wait for the 30 seconds to go through, I literally browse through each blog.

    🙂 Keep it up!

I’ll answer each comment sometime this weekend. Steve, I haven’t posted the power of words one, as my faith based post got lost in my comment problem.

So I simplified it and added a new one.

But words, while they don’t literally kill, can incite a person easily to kill.

My stance on the First Amendment is well known to anybody who reads my blog. I’m a First Amendment absolutist. I don’t believ that a person should be accused of being unpatriotic for speaking against the current president.

But….I’ll leave that for my post.

Pia, this is getting scary. The same day you post about hitting 25K and the importance of comments, I hit 10K and do the same.
Anyway, mazel tov on reaching 25K from someone who always stays more than 30 seconds so I can read what you have to say!

About Me

I live in the South, not South Florida, a few blocks from the ocean, and two blocks from the main street. It's called Main Street. Amazes me too.

I'm from New York. I mostly lived in the Mid-Upper East Side, and the heart of the Upper West Side. It amazes me when people talk about how scared they were of Times Square in the 1970's and 1980's.

As my mother said: "know the streets, look out and you'll be fine."

What was scary was the invasion of the crack dens into "good buildings in good 'hoods." And the greedy landlords who did everything they could to get good tenants out of buildings.

I'm a Long Island girl, and proud of it now.
Then I hated everything about the suburbs. Yet somehow I lived in a few great Long Island Sound towns after high school.
