I wrote two posts about Terri this past week because she is news and her case is something that I’m too familiar with.
In the post below this I wrote about search engines, James Spader, William Shatner and managed to get in the Bush family. Side note, as I write this, Jeff Daniels is singing a song about William Shatner and a tribute of sorts. “If William Shatner can, I can to.” Yes!
There’s a comment about how I have a disturbed single mindedness about Bush(es). Had the person gone further than the three posts on the first page she would have seen I have gone months without writing about them on Courting. However…
Sorry if it offends you, but…I just don’t like the Bushes. Don’t like that; don’t read my blog!
Trying to decide whether or not to have Impeach Bush somewhere in every post, probably at the end. Should I or shouldn’t I? If I do, should it be impeach Bush(es) or not. Don’t live in Florida, but everybody in the world feels that they can tell New Yorkers what to do and how to do it, so…
Courting isn’t turning into all politics all the time at all. No not at all. Am adding and changing categories today; am incredibly stupidly excited about that. It was that or a father’s day BBQ; so, here I be…
Yes Impeach both the little blood suckers. I live in Australia and always get asked ‘What does Bush have to do with you?’…well he controls the freaking world. Say you want and don’t let those spineless right-wing nuts hold you back.
Peace,
Politics is OK, especially if you don’t like the Bushes. I don’t either. They do suck.
Amazing that with all that education, you never thought to dip into neurology, speech pathology, pathology, diagnostic radiology, physiatry or any other specialty that would enhance the credibility of your offerings on the Schiavo case. You’ve clearly got some major time on your hands. It isn’t too late to go back to school.
Thanks for the advice. Since you don’t have a blog, I know nothing about you, or what your qualifications are to tell me what I didn’t do.
I am a licensed social worker who specialized in clinical geriatrics. As I was the person who had to explain the multi-team decision to the patient (if at all cognizant) and always be avaliable to them for counseling, crying or just somebody to vent to, I don’t have to defend my expertise.
I am confused, as to how speech pathology for example, would come into play in the Terry Schiavo case. She couldn’t speak nor was there a possiblilty that she could.
Your argument sounds bitter. You sound as if you threw in every medical specialty you thought might have some relevance in this case.
If you wish to argue with me about this please go to Bring it on! where I will be happy to discuss it more.

As a speech pathologist, I’m confused how that comes into the Schiavo case as well. Sure, someone could have spent a lot of time trying to work with her but it would have been a waste of that person’s time. When she first went into the hospital she would have been evaluated by a speech pathologist. The doctor would have ordered it as part of an evaluation on a person’s swallowing/language abilities. If the person doing the evaluation had thought that Terri would benefit from the services, the doctor would have ordered them.
Before you start questioning me, Susan, I have done speech/language/swallowing evaluations on stroke and tramatic brain injury patients. I’m speaking from experience. You’re just tossing out the names of fields and adding an insult to the mix.
