My Day, just a bit of it!

February 2, 2006 By pia

Woke up to my upstairs neighbor making animal signs as he puked. It’s a nightly thing, but for some reason it kept me up. Always wonder how he still has an esophagus. Listened to the sounds of the garbage being collected from the garbage room and finally understood why I wake up every morning between 6:15-6:30.

Answered emails, wrote, went out. As I was crossing West End Avenue a deliveryman on a bike was going down the avenue; swerved to miss him. He swerved almost into me, accidentally I hope, but I was faster

Came home after an action packed afternoon. A woman, usually known as the building nut, hit me with the door, not accidentally. We have a history that I will go into some other time

Installed my new computer which seems to be missing Arial or something–so this will be very short. A 19 inch screen is supposed to help your eyes, not kill them. The only way I can see this is by bolding it. Really hope this is fixable and I don’t have to return anything–please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That neighbor thing doesn’t sound pleasant.
I think you can enlarge the fonts in your browser or change the size of the text in your browser.

About Me

I live in the South, not South Florida, a few blocks from the ocean, and two blocks from the main street. It's called Main Street. Amazes me too.

I'm from New York. I mostly lived in the Mid-Upper East Side, and the heart of the Upper West Side. It amazes me when people talk about how scared they were of Times Square in the 1970's and 1980's.

As my mother said: "know the streets, look out and you'll be fine."

What was scary was the invasion of the crack dens into "good buildings in good 'hoods." And the greedy landlords who did everything they could to get good tenants out of buildings.

I'm a Long Island girl, and proud of it now.
Then I hated everything about the suburbs. Yet somehow I lived in a few great Long Island Sound towns after high school.
