She would be the Spawn of Satan only Satan is too good for her

June 19, 2006 By pia

I’m going for my last dental visit in two solid years of every two weeks–with some breaks for good behavior. I really really don’t like Ann Coulter. Wouldn’t like a liberal who was as nasty but don’t know of any.

Papers drop “liberals” for being offensive but Ann Coulter? Ain’t even funny. But unlike “Godless liberals,” her expression. she must have God on her side. Because she gets millions to be flat out nasty. And that’s gross.

If you wish to disparage Ann Coulter, feel free. If you wish to disparge me, remember I’m a humorless liberal, and I will use the expression that has been used so often on me “I have friends.”

Ann Coulter hasn’t lost any of her 100-plus newspaper clients, or the support of her syndicate, Universal Press Syndicate, despite her nasty remarks in her new book about 9/11 widows and her comment in an online interview implying that, perhaps, U.S. Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) should be “fragged.”

Why is Coulter keeping all her subscribers? “Ann’s client newspapers stick with her because she has a loyal fan base of conservative readers who look forward to reading her columns in their local newspapers,” Universal Director of Communications Kathie Kerr said in a statement, after being queried today by E&P.

Editors, she pointed out, have chosen not to run certain “Doonesbury” or “Boondocks” cartoons, which come from the liberal side of the spectrum.

The Universal columnist has also “joked” about killing other people, including Arabs, Muslims, and U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, and suggested that blowing up The New York Times building might be a good idea, especially if the reporters and editors were still inside.

I have never liked this woman. Because she is bringing in $, nobody will question her. I personally think she’s a b****.

So she is also cashing in on the deaths of 911. But in her head its okay.

Hi! Michele sent me over via her blogroll today.

Frankly, I don’t think anyone ought to be dropped for a thing they write. You know, free speech and all that. I do think one can be let go if their work is impacting the bottom line. That’s no different than any other career.

All that to say, I’m not a liberal. I’m not even a conservative. I’m that annoying creature called “moderate.” Big mouths and idiots on either side of the fence annoy me, but I don’t think any should be fired for it.

Inventing the news? Yes. Knowingly mis-reporting/mis-quoting/mis-representing? Sure. Having an opinion and sharing it loudly – no way.

I would like to take this fight directly to Ms. Coulter – the way she does; in her face, outrageous statements, call it like I see it. Only no one will listen. Say a single thing to her, about her, on her level – and so-called progressives throw up their hands, say ‘tsk, tsk, tsk – ignore her and she’ll go away’. Well she hasn’t gone away, I think it’s wrong to ignore her and I believe its time she became the focus of her own style verbal attacks. Only one need’s a mighty high platform from which to do that, however; and so far – none of the commentators and pundits seem willing to take her on. Makes me wish I owned my own small newspaper. I’d make her downfall and excoriation a personal mission. Girlfriend there wouldn’t have a chance!

sandy: Ann Coulter does mis-quote. She does mis-represent.

And anyways, it’s been the singleminded focus on the bottom line amongst newspapers that got us into a lot of the trouble we’re into now. The news media never bothered, for instance, to debunk the myth of a link between Iraq and Al-Queda, not because proving it false would require even the slightest effort, but for fear that they’d lose money.

The bottom line is that there has to be a better way

EW Thanks. We know that, but god forgive any paper “drop” her. She would be on them faster than 20 New Jersey Harpies–

and I love NJ and “Harpies” as Coulter describes tham

Sandy I am not for “censoring” people.

I’m sure that I know, love and respect The First Amendment as much or more than you do

Why is it acceptable to drop Gary Trodeau but not Ann Coulter?

He’s brilliant with much to say

This just makes me ill. If the hatred came from the Left, you KNOW the fur would fly. What makes it ok that she says it?

I really, really have no respect for her.

    Adrianna Huffington
    Any H-Post Writer
    Barbara Streisand
    Linda Rondstadt
    Alec Baldwin

Need I continue? There are nutjobs on both sides of the line…get used to it.

See you on the high ground.

    Linda Rondstadt? A nasty liberal?

While I don’t agree with the people you picked as “nasty liberals”
I never said that there weren’t nasty liberals.

I said that Doonesbury which certainly is much calmer and less offensive than Coulter has been dropped.

I find people like Coulter to be extremely offensive. She serves no purpose but to insult or put down

She isn’t issue oriented nor does she write about anything with substance.

Her only crediblity comes from the fact that she gets published and some people must find her funny.

None of the people you mentioned come anywhere close to her brand of evil snarkiness.

I guess she’s a role model for snarky Republicans–which shows how
    low they have fallen

Linda Rondstadt? Because of something that happened in Las Vegas three years ago, I think.

Linda Rondstat? Sorry but that is funny

I just woke up. I am medicated and have a fever. I answered this comment because it amused me to

I still delete “nasty” comments, and won’t debate. This is my blog. These are my opinions. It’s a private blog. I lose money on it.

The First Amendment, which I am a stuanch supporter of, doesn’t apply here

About Me

I live in the South, not South Florida, a few blocks from the ocean, and two blocks from the main street. It's called Main Street. Amazes me too.

I'm from New York. I mostly lived in the Mid-Upper East Side, and the heart of the Upper West Side. It amazes me when people talk about how scared they were of Times Square in the 1970's and 1980's.

As my mother said: "know the streets, look out and you'll be fine."

What was scary was the invasion of the crack dens into "good buildings in good 'hoods." And the greedy landlords who did everything they could to get good tenants out of buildings.

I'm a Long Island girl, and proud of it now.
Then I hated everything about the suburbs. Yet somehow I lived in a few great Long Island Sound towns after high school.
