My horoscope

December 10, 2006 By pia

The W-b-log awards. The finalists are a joke, right? There wasn’t one individual or non-top of the top ranked listed blogs nominated. Best Individual blog–take a look but not from here, I’m not linking to it. While I hope never to be nominated for a blogging award again unless it pays big time, I do believe that grass roots bloggers be rewarded. I would have loved to have seen both Cooper and MizzyB in both categories, and we could have assigned them each a category. Dream on.

Michael Lutin’s
Planetarium
CancerDecember 2006

We all know that we live in a material world that too often measures a person’s worth in terms of his or her capacity to bring in revenue. With Saturn retrograde in your solar 2nd house this month, however, try not to let yourself get nuts if you’re not hauling in as much as you (or others) think you should be. Your true value lies in your dedication and skill, so don’t let the numbers bother you. If you love what you’re doing, just keep doing it to the best of your ability, with or without the midnight heartburn.

Want to remember to live by this. Lutin had a story about Pluto, Capricorn, and the USA in the print issue. It was supposed to be expanded on the Internet but I couldn’t find it.

I was going to take this weekend off, relax and be social. I managed the last and spent the rest of the time writing but not for Courting. The midnight heartburn still comes.

The blogger unfortunately still known as Bone is this weeks guest on Shayna’s My Music Highway Project. We at Courting hope that Bone changes that name before we become snarky.

At Courting we have a busy social and educational week. We’re trying to remember what it means to relax but…We think we have had a break through on the real writing front and will try to live by the horoscope above. Shit it’s for January.

Damn we haven’t planned our vacation because Lucia is too busy to help and everytime we mention som place in Puerto Rico it’s on the wrong side of the Island. Even if it’s across the Island from the last place we mentioned. We might go to Isla de Mujeres in Mexico as we stayed there the summer we turned seventeen and uh it’s been awhile.

We might just stay here and pretend to be away. Though I don’t think that would work.

My new Imac crashed. Saved this and lost the Word Document I was almost finished with though I had saved and closed it. My fault. Should always be saving somewhere else. It was so good it blew me away and I usually hate my writing. Honestly don’t know if I can reconstruct it. Had all these little touches.

I think I should go on a real vacation where I don’t blog. Somebody I know is blogging from his vacation and blames it on my precedent of course. Bad Dawg.

Actually blogging is no longer an official obsession. Now it’s just writing.

Ah…a fellow Cancer too? I have become more and more anti-materialistic over the years–in part because I have less money than ever, but I’ve also found there is something to this “less is more” stuff.

NYC is one of those cities where you could conceivably live here and also vacation here–but I guess everyone needs a break now and then. Hopefully this time around you won’t be tempted to blog on the beach–I hear the sand is bad for your hard drive.

Hope you were able to recover your piece–I hate when that happens.

I just stopped by the music highway and met your bone. Seems like a nice genetleman.
I like awards in the name of fun but they are the same every year.

    A real vacation sounds nice.

    Blog awards? Like blog grammys?

I wonder if Milli Vannili could win a blog grammy…

I’m kind of shocked to hear about your imac. That’s very unusal.

I’m also glad to hear the obsession with blogging has loosened its grip. That is a horrible way to feel!

Off to check your photos cutie 🙂

I do have to mention though that I think no one likes awards unless they are actually in them, and yeah it is the same old blogs for the most part, but I am going to ask everyone to vote for the “Sudanese Thinker”
because I nominated him after I went over there when the gbr dude gave my name and I started looking around.
He is a guy that is fairly new and it would help his readership, and I want people to read him.

Hope your computer is working now.

Mac’s don’t usually crash. My work computer is an IBM and crashes daily but my Mac and the wife’s Mac run smooth as silk. However, I never got Safari to agree with me so I use Mozilla on my Mac.

I wonder if the Pluto demotion messed up the astrologists.

Bone: Has anybody actually told Pluto yet? Ha! I thought not. The dumped planetoid is always the last to find out.

I agree, Kyah. I’ve had macs for years without a single crash. Pia, I fear you’ve been cursed.

    I just blogged a little!

To paraphrase Woody Allen in Annie Hall, “they give awards for that? What’s next, best facist dictator, Adolph Hitler?”

About Me

I live in the South, not South Florida, a few blocks from the ocean, and two blocks from the main street. It's called Main Street. Amazes me too.

I'm from New York. I mostly lived in the Mid-Upper East Side, and the heart of the Upper West Side. It amazes me when people talk about how scared they were of Times Square in the 1970's and 1980's.

As my mother said: "know the streets, look out and you'll be fine."

What was scary was the invasion of the crack dens into "good buildings in good 'hoods." And the greedy landlords who did everything they could to get good tenants out of buildings.

I'm a Long Island girl, and proud of it now.
Then I hated everything about the suburbs. Yet somehow I lived in a few great Long Island Sound towns after high school.
