I love this space. Few people read it, and it reminds me of my early blogging days when I felt free to say anything. The blogs published just before it on Blogger all seemed to be Christian, Republican, mommy, tech, marketing or sex blogs. I thought the ideal blogger was a Christian Republican puta who emphasised technical product placement.
I would get an occasional comment telling me to move to France or that upstate New York supports downstate. As these people were obviously idiots the comments never bothered me. Actually they made me laugh.
It was a great day when I realized that people read blogs. I believe that was November 14, 20004. Courting will be two and a half years old on Saturday. I don’t know how many hits it has gotten, off hand. A lot. I’m not one with my sitemeter; I don’t really like to know who is reading. I don’t want to feel influenced in anyway. Obviously I know who comments but don’t feel influenced by commenters unless they’re nasty. Then I delete and forget about it.
I became a political blogger. Political bloggers tend to become known. Hence the hits.
I’m not cut out to be a political blogger. I’m used to New York arguing. It’s loud, it’s over everything or nothing, and the playing fields are equal. Nobody sics Bibles on you, or disdains your morals. Then there is the BE thing.
Somebody has been buying me credits on BE. I don’t like that.
Anonymous gifts are creepy. Only cowards or people who have the false idea that they can somewhat control you don’t say who they are.
I don’t “need” BE so it’s a rather wasted gift. I have no idea if the person is a reader who likes or dislikes me.
40% of my hits come from Google. “kinky sex in a hair salon” was my favorite recently. “Hostile Takeover” was big for awhile. Felt sorry for the Googlers as I was talking about a hostile takeover of my blog.
I have a soft spot for the Allied Interstate hits and have them as a page. The comments keep coming. People help each other. I sent the page to every person or entity I could think of, but I think a collection agency that plays the dirtiest tricks isn’t of interest.
My Allied page represents part of the best of blogging to me. The people I have met blogging, and still talk to, are amazing
I love the civilized exchange of ideas but tend to do it in comments in other blogs as Courting really really is a place for me to play with words, to get out superfluous ideas, and to empty my head of garbage.
Two and a half years is a long time for me. I alway was the leaving type. Onto find something new, something different, something better, something more exciting.
It’s just a blog but I like it.
I found the something different, something better, something more exciting, something potentially lucrative.
I knew when I got the new template I wouldn’t feel as scattered, and the missing link in my memoir would come to me.
It did.
I feel enthused for the first time in awhile.
The new template is more me. I have never been retro cute and have always been retro edgy. For only by honoring and remembering the past can one go into the future.
I choose to honor the past with a pinup.
