Please read my other blog

January 18, 2008 By pia

It’s a one issue blog. Not dealing with politics or anything important to the world but shows a side of me not really shown here.

I’m not linking it yet. Please ask for the URL. I whined in one post but was deep into the flu so….

I received a complaint about calling my parents anxious in this blog. They were. Had blogging been around my father would have probably found a great outlet, I would have had to move to another world as our political views were so different.

I hope that my love and respect for my parents shows through as I adore(d) them and think of them every day. They were two of the funniest and most eccentric though kinda normal seeming people I have ever met. I’m very proud to be their daughter and keep trying to channel my father’s ghost to tell me what to do about the stock market. Many other people are trying to channel him also.

We never should have thrown out his Ouija board or made fun of his ability to levitate tables.

About Me

I live in the South, not South Florida, a few blocks from the ocean, and two blocks from the main street. It's called Main Street. Amazes me too.

I'm from New York. I mostly lived in the Mid-Upper East Side, and the heart of the Upper West Side. It amazes me when people talk about how scared they were of Times Square in the 1970's and 1980's.

As my mother said: "know the streets, look out and you'll be fine."

What was scary was the invasion of the crack dens into "good buildings in good 'hoods." And the greedy landlords who did everything they could to get good tenants out of buildings.

I'm a Long Island girl, and proud of it now.
Then I hated everything about the suburbs. Yet somehow I lived in a few great Long Island Sound towns after high school.
