Yes we can….Vote for Barack Obama

February 5, 2008 By pia

New York’s isn’t Hillary’s home state. She established residency before her senate campaign and has spent most time campaigning or in DC.

I know that this video–a musical version of Obama’s New Hampshire speech is all over the Internet but it sings so much

Our nation needs healing badly and one man can….”Nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change.” “There’s never been anything false about the power of hope”

Just listen to the video. We aren’t as divided as people would like us to believe. We have so much going for us. Why are we in this mess?

“yes we can.”

Yes we can indeed! I cast my vote, now let’s hope enough voters joined in. I too had the video (along with millions of others) on my blog today but it seems to have disappeared overnight. The message is brimming with hope.

I like the video, the Chicago Sun Times, I think, had a negative post on the video, but it’s a good video and well worth looking at.

No way! I’m not voting for OBAMA!!! He would make a terrible president, that is my gut instinct!! Sort of like a Mayor DINKINS!! If Obama became pres something TERRIBLE WOULD HAPPEN!!! (it is my psychic intuition!!!)

He’s a very inspiring speaker. I have no idea who’ll do the best job, but for some reason, part of me will be a little sad if Obama loses.

I never voted in a primary before. This year I made an exception. No time for full rant mode, but long story short, I sort of like Obama, and I really don’t like Hillary.

Like Bone, though, no idea who’ll do the best job.

I reminded a friend of mine about the primaries last week & he said “Yeah, time to vote between Coke & Pepsi”.

I voted but I don’t expect wonders of anyone. It’s not even that I have such a low opinion of politicians – it’s just that whoever ends up being our new president will be taking over such a hideous mess.

    It’s easy to propose solutions.

    Implementing them? Harder.

Having them work out the way they were intended to?

    That’s just not entirely controllable.

Truly, that video makes me cry like a little, tiny, baby, everytime I see it.

About Me

I live in the South, not South Florida, a few blocks from the ocean, and two blocks from the main street. It's called Main Street. Amazes me too.

I'm from New York. I mostly lived in the Mid-Upper East Side, and the heart of the Upper West Side. It amazes me when people talk about how scared they were of Times Square in the 1970's and 1980's.

As my mother said: "know the streets, look out and you'll be fine."

What was scary was the invasion of the crack dens into "good buildings in good 'hoods." And the greedy landlords who did everything they could to get good tenants out of buildings.

I'm a Long Island girl, and proud of it now.
Then I hated everything about the suburbs. Yet somehow I lived in a few great Long Island Sound towns after high school.
